Welcome to Aces Fore Autism

Aces Fore Autism is a golf-related program helping autistic and other differently abled golfers be better at the sport. Plans are in motion for our first clinics to happen in September 2024. So, I am excited to announce that after a lot of hard work it will be happening real soon!

The program will include everything a child will need like extra support. Metropolitan Golf Association will have Coaches trained in adaptive sports. Metropolitan Golf will also be lining up the course or courses we will be playing at. There will be clubs available for all students so if you don’t have your own, you won’t have to buy anything. But trust me after the clinic you WILL DEFINITELY want to buy your own clubs because you will LOVE golf!

The main focus of the golf lessons

is about skills, drills and fun games.

What you need to know

While there is NO COST for this first FREE 2 Hour Clinic and donation would be greatly appreciated and can be turned in on the day of the event or delivered to Harrison.

The first clinic is now set for this September 2024!!
The clinic will be held @ Mohansic Golf Course in Yorktown Heights
The date will be on Thursday, September 26th
It will be 2 hours and will start at 4:30 and run til 6:30pm.
There will be a rain date set for October 1st
We are hoping for about 10-15 people in the lessons with an appropriate number of coaches based on sign up.
The minimum age being 6 with max age dependent on who signs up, but I think 16-18 probably makes sense, at least for this first round of clinics. We can always re-evaluate for the Spring.
We will be working on: chipping, putting, driving and functional exercises for golf
All Coaches are trained in Adaptive Golf and working with kids and adults with special needs

At the end of the program we are also scheduled to participate with Autism Speaks in their Fall Walks for Charity. One on Long Island and one in Westchester. Autism Speaks heard about my idea and loved it so much they wanted to help promote AFA at their charity walks. We will be doing the walks with Metropolitan Golf Association to get the word out and increase membership so that in the Spring of 2025 AFA can be happening on multiple days to make room for many more students!!
